Dr. Liam Wilson BDS PGCert (Implants) PGDip (Orthodontics)
principal Dentist
Liam is the principal dentist at Calm. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 2014 and started at Calm as a foundation dentist. Charles kept him on as an associate and then he bought the practice in 2025!
Liam enjoys most aspects of dentistry but has a particular interest in aesthetic dentistry and restorative. He enjoys providing patients with improvements in their smiles with composite and ceramic restorations, and when teeth need to be realigned he can provide orthodontics in the form of fixed braces, lingual braces and clear aligners. The training for his diploma in orthodontics was heavily influenced by the long waiting times for NHS teenage orthodontics, meaning he can provide most teenagers with orthodontics privately if they prefer not to wait. Liam has completed further training in dental implant surgery and hard and soft tissue grafting, allowing him to restore missing teeth, even when there isn’t a lot of bone or soft tissue. All of these disciplines of dentistry can be utilised to provide someone with a comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment plan, all from the same surgery and without the need to refer. Anyone who knows Liam will know how much he loves people and he will spend the time discussing the wants and needs of patients, forming a tailored treatment plan that is most appropriate to each individual. Liam is currently studying for a PGDip in periodontics which will allow him and the therapists to work closely to combat gum disease at the practice. It further adds to his surgical skills around dental implants and managing gum recession with soft tissue grafting techniques, and can aid in the treatment of perio-endo lesions when working alongside Bally who provides the root treatments at Calm.
Outside of work Liam loves to spend time with his family, walk Billy the dog and head over to Anfield to watch Liverpool FC where he shares a season ticket with his dad and brother.
